I'm the type of person who likes those summer songs that have a whole chorus of La La's, like "Bobby McGee". How serious I am depends on the weather. I like red wine, dark beer and the smell of apple cider simmering. The scars I formed growing up aren't any worse than anyone else's. I take pictures of my bruises. I was raised by the type of woman who likes to talk about what happened during every hand of cards right after it's been played. I put two slices of American in my grilled cheese sandwiches. I never went through a punk phase, a grunge phase, a goth phase, or an emo phase but that doesn't mean I didn't have angst at some point. I've never broken a bone, eaten sushi or had a pedicure. I am suspicious of people who use too much sarcasm. I keep track of the chronology of my memories by recalling what music I was listening to then. I like the rhythm line in "Kiss Them For Me" and I adore all those extra letters in the name Siouxsie. I prefer prose to poetry. I love to crochet but I have never made a granny square. I eat a lot of grains and would like to eat more fresh fish but I live in the Midwest and quality is sometimes a problem. My favorite time of day used to be sunset but the older I get the more I like dawn. I'm not as ___________ as you are and that doesn't bother me. I'm the type of homemaker that scrubs until the spot is gone. I don't have the kind of face that can pull off red lipstick. You can look but I'll save you time by telling you now that I don't have any user pictures that show off my cleavage. I never liked Sex and the City and I've never read a Harry Potter book. I quit smoking years ago and haven't cheated or had the desire to. I reread books obsessively. I was 20 when I got my first grey hair. I want to grow my own vegetables and can my own pickles like my father. I'm afraid of spiders. I talk in my sleep. I love to tell funny stories. I'm not convinced that women who have to wear makeup can love themselves. I don't follow politics and I've learned not to discuss religion with the devout of any denomination. I'm the type of person who bares her teeth when she sings along to the really badass songs. My personality has both obsessive compulsive and lazy components, which leaves me not wanting to finish something because it would have to be done perfectly. I probably like you more than you like me. I think Jet Li is sexy. I'm in between best friends and that doesn't really bother me. I love people who are mature enough to love themselves. Every October I buy the four biggest pumpkins I can find and make my own pumpkin seeds to snack on. I've never seen "Gone With the Wind" or "Caddy Shack" and I thought "Garden State" was an awful movie. I had to learn the hard way why it's not a good idea to fry bacon in a bikini. Dude, I've got a Dell. I love little things. I'm a Crest girl. I think it's possible to believe in the power of prayer without believing in God. Zombie movies give me nightmares. I refuse to watch romantic comedies or television shows with laugh tracks. I'm attracted to redheads and people who don't always have to have the last word. I have fourteen indoor pets, two sisters and four sets of grandparents. My family is probably just as crazy as yours. I learned to cherish my flaws when they surface because they are what prompt me to grow.
